Mission
The foundation aims to sustainably secure and promote livelihoods in Swiss mountain regions, particularly by: 1. Improving the economic foundations of life in mountain regions, particularly by recognizing initiative and supporting innovation in the spirit of helping people help themselves. Particular attention is paid to mountain agriculture; 2. Strengthening social structures in mountain regions, particularly by fostering viable village communities and promoting coexistence within a socially integrated society; 3. Enhancing the natural environment, particularly by promoting the sustainable use and design of the cultural landscape and by promoting a balance between the demands of different interest groups; 4. Providing spontaneous and emergency aid in extraordinary situations. The foundation is free to choose the means to pursue its purpose. As a rule, the foundation pursues its purpose through contributions to individuals, families, and communities. The foundation may also carry out its own projects or support third-party organizations. The foundation is non-profit and humanitarian, pursues no commercial purposes, and does not seek profit. The foundation is politically and religiously neutral.
