In this sense, the Association mainly intends to: disseminate information on development issues; express public positions during events involving Switzerland and developing or emerging countries; challenge people and institutions to invite them to decide on the relations between Switzerland and developing or emerging countries; support or create working or action groups engaged in development policy; actively participate in the coordination of national organizations working in the field of development and collaborate, where appropriate, with movements whose action tends to further development in Switzerland; encourage its groups and members to make their desire for solidarity and change credible through their concrete commitment and financial commitment; represent before the courts the interests of persons or groups of persons abroad who are harmed or likely to be harmed by violations of human rights or environmental protection standards as well as by criminal offenses, such as corruption, granting or accepting an advantage, money laundering on the part of Swiss companies or other economic actors; or initiate corresponding criminal proceedings. The Association does not itself manage development projects in developing or emerging countries. The Association is active in the three main linguistic regions of Switzerland.
