The purpose of the foundation is to provide for the benefit of management employees of Saurer Intelligent Technology AG (SITAG), Saurer Netherlands Machinery Company, Arbon branch (SNL) and the pension fund of Saurer Unternehmungen (PKSU) and their survivors against the financial consequences of old age, disability and death, as well as to support the member of the pension fund or their survivors in emergencies such as illness, accident, disability or unemployment. By resolution of the Board of Trustees, the staff of companies with close economic or financial ties to the company may also be affiliated to the foundation by means of a written affiliation agreement, which must be brought to the attention of the supervisory authority, provided that the necessary funds are made available to the foundation and the acquired legal rights and entitlements of the previous beneficiaries are not diminished. The purpose of the foundation can be fulfilled in particular by: an autonomous pension scheme, if the actuarial requirements are met; through insurance contracts, whereby the foundation must be the policyholder and beneficiary, and/or through a retirement savings fund with supplementary risk insurance. To finance contributions and insurance premiums, the foundation may also make payments to other tax-exempt pension institutions (including 1e institutions) that exist for the benefit of the beneficiaries. Employer contributions to pension institutions that exist for the benefit of the beneficiaries may be exclusively financed from foundation funds if the foundation has previously accumulated contribution reserves and these have been separately disclosed (employer contribution reserves).
