cultivate a love of nature and life from an early age; promote a sustainable way of life based on respect for oneself, others and the environment, help young people to develop the skills required for sustainable development and inspire them to take action; support schools in setting up education projects for sustainable development; support legal and natural persons in the implementation of concrete actions in the field of sustainable development. The Association refers to the definition of sustainable development as it was formulated in 1987 by the World Commission on Environment and Development (Brundtland Commission), in its report our common future: "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. The Association conceives of education for sustainable development in a broad sense which also includes education for the environment, for (global) citizenship, for the media and for the promotion of health.
