The purpose of the foundation is to support and promote public and charitable tasks, education and training, science and research, art, cultural and religious institutions and sport, primarily in eastern Switzerland, but not limited to this region. The foundation can also grant scholarships and interest-free loans for study or training to people who do not have sufficient financial resources of their own. The purpose of the foundation also includes social welfare, namely for the poor, the sick, the elderly and the infirm, as well as the support of institutions that in turn pursue public or charitable purposes.
