eCurrency Foundation

The Foundation's purpose is to promote, develop, support, and disseminate decentralized technological infrastructures based on distributed ledgers (DLTs), with a particular focus on blockchain payment systems. Specifically, the Foundation pursues general interest objectives, including the following: Development and promotion of blockchain protocols, meaning supporting the development, maintenance, and evolution of open-source decentralized protocols, with specific reference to the eCurrency (ECR) protocol, as a highly scalable, cryptographically secure, and economically sustainable digital payment infrastructure; promoting architectures based on UTXO models, deterministic validation, and inflation-free proof-of-stake consensus systems; payment systems and digital assets, meaning encouraging the adoption and use of efficient, accessible, and decentralized payment solutions based on blockchain technology; supporting the development and integration of the eCurrency (ECR) token as a medium of exchange, unit of settlement, and infrastructure for value transfers and digital financial instruments; Promoting tokenization models and digital assets based on deterministic validation and the absence of global execution. Research, innovation, and technological security, meaning promoting scientific and technical research in the fields of cryptography, including post-quantum cryptography, distributed system security, and blockchain infrastructure scalability; supporting the development of open and interoperable standards for decentralized payment systems. Ecosystem and adoption, meaning supporting developers, businesses, and institutions in the adoption and implementation of solutions based on the eCurrency protocol and related technologies; fostering the growth of a decentralized ecosystem through funding programs, grants, partnerships, and educational initiatives. Governance, compliance, and institutional dialogue, meaning promoting the responsible and compliant use of blockchain technologies by engaging with regulators, standardization bodies, and other stakeholders; contributing to the development of best practices in governance, transparency, and security in decentralized systems. Rights and asset management, meaning holding, managing, and licensing intellectual property rights related to the technologies developed or supported; Hold, manage, and use digital tokens, including eCurrency tokens (ECR), exclusively to the extent necessary to pursue the Foundation's purpose, excluding speculative or commercial trading activities. Any activity ancillary to the above, or any activity directly or indirectly related to the pursuit of the purpose, including financing, technical coordination, auditing, and infrastructure support. The Foundation is non-profit and does not seek to generate profits. Any surpluses are entirely allocated to the pursuit of the statutory purpose. The Foundation's assets are irrevocably tied to the pursuit of the purpose. Any direct or indirect distribution of profits, advantages, or financial benefits to the founders, members of the governing bodies, or third parties is prohibited, unless adequate consideration is given. The Foundation may engage in economic activities only to the extent that they are ancillary and instrumental to the pursuit of the purpose and do not compromise its non-profit nature. The Founders expressly reserve the right to request a change to the Foundation's purpose pursuant to art. 86a CC, in any case, without prejudice to the absence of profit-making purposes and any profit-making purpose.
