The Dance Camp

"The Dance Camp" is a project in Switzerland. It is active in the areas of education, vacation, healthcare and others.

Mission

What is The Dance Camp?

With the project “The Dance Camp”, the association “Paname Academy” is realizing a leisure camp for dance-loving children and young people, with the aim of promoting the exchange between dance enthusiasts from different language areas. The promotion of talent and performance should not be neglected. No matter if you are a beginner, advanced or professional: Everyone is welcome at “The Dance Camp”. The camp will take place from ** 17.-22. July 2022 ** for the fourth time in Willisau (Canton Lucerne) for children and adolescents aged 9-20 years. Two overnight camps (Willisau, Lugano) and two day camps (Lausanne) are planned for 2023.

The Paname Academy Association

With its work, the "Paname Academy" association attaches great importance to networking, encounters, self-development, a sense of community and a healthy lifestyle. The association aims to promote children, young people and adults and to develop their potential through exercise, education and exchange. The aim is to break down boundaries and inhibitions, be it personal, cultural or linguistic, and to promote self-development. The aim is to achieve the following goals, which are to be realized with the help of sustainable and authentic projects.

  • Promote children, adolescents and adults in a motivating environment (dance, yoga, health, body awareness)
  • Organization of events, workshops and camps in order to be able to convey the values of the association to the outside world.
  • Offer rooms and a platform where like-minded people can exchange, network and develop

What defines us

** Switzerland-wide and cultural exchange ** Multicultural integration is important to us. At "The Dance Camp", children of different languages come together. The aim is to overcome hurdles in the other language and to develop friendships that extend beyond the Röstigraben. Experience has shown that it suddenly becomes easier for children to attend French or German classes after the summer vacation. All of our leaders can express themselves in several languages.

Sustainability Not only the camper experience and the removal of hurdles should be sustainable. We are considerate of people and the environment and try to make our camps as sustainable as possible. For example, we pay attention to regionality in the catering as well as in the "goodies", we do not provide Nutella, plastic bottles or T-shirts made in China.

Why we need support * It is very important to us that children and young people from all financial backgrounds can take part in the camp. For this reason, the contributions of the participants do not fully cover our expenses, which means that we are dependent on your financial support. * Although the camp will only take place in July, we already have more than 60 registrations (as of November 2021). In order to be able to meet the high demand, we would like to offer several camps per year in the future. The aim would be to offer another overnight camp (Locarno) and two day camps (Lausanne & Basel) in 2023. Thanks to your support, we can meet the increasing demand and offer more camps. * Your financial contribution will be used for the following examples: * Sports halls * Overnight accommodation * Healthy and sustainable meals * Sustainably produced t-shirts for children and young people * Remuneration of the dance teachers, organization team and cooking team * Other expenses that enable the camp organization
