The purpose of the foundation is to promote science at a German-speaking university in the field of "ancient Egyptian legal history - focus: documents in Egyptian language and writing (hieroglyphic, hieratic, Demotic, Coptic)". The foundation pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes by supporting a German-speaking university with an established field of study in Egyptology, if possible at the University of Basel, Heidelberg, Innsbruck, Munich, Trier or Tübingen.
