Solidar Suisse

Solidar Suisse is a non-governmental organization active in international cooperation (development cooperation and humanitarian aid). It provides material assistance and self-help to disadvantaged and oppressed people. It advocates for social justice and combats exploitation and marginalization. Solidar Suisse pursues a grassroots and partnership-based approach; it collaborates with locally based organizations. Solidar Suisse informs the Swiss population about its activities abroad, raises awareness of the causes and backgrounds of poverty, lack of freedom, and social injustice, and draws attention to its own options for action to alleviate and eliminate these grievances. In collaboration with its supporting organizations, Solidar Suisse influences Swiss development policy. Human dignity and human rights are the central framework for Solidar Suisse's work. It respects the cultural values of the local population and aligns its activities with social and ecological conditions.
