Mission

On the one hand, the purpose of the foundation is to preserve, maintain, disseminate and convey the content of Markus Raetz's artistic work, in particular by storing and inventorying the works he has created, creating, maintaining and continuing an archive of Markus Raetz's entire work, by initiating and supporting Exhibition activities and publications as well as by granting loans and other suitable measures and activities. The foundation is active nationally and internationally within the scope of its purpose. The foundation can hold and manage the copyrights to the works of Markus Raetz and issue licenses. The Foundation can make the archive of Markus Raetz's artistic work accessible for research purposes and can publish catalogs of works or advise and support the editors and authors of catalogs of works. The foundation can appraise works attributed to the artist Markus Raetz and carry out authentications. The Foundation is free to make individual works, groups or the entire collection available to suitable institutions (museums, foundations, etc.) as long-term loans, provided they guarantee that they will use the works of art for the purpose of the Foundation. Under the same conditions, the Foundation can donate individual works or groups to suitable institutions. The Board of Trustees can, by unanimous decision, sell works from the Foundation's holdings, provided the founder or her deceased husband Markus Raetz has not designated the works in question as not for sale and the proceeds are used to achieve the Foundation's purpose. If the founder has given instructions or conditions when dedicating works of art as to whether and in what form the works in question may or should be sold, these must be observed. The foundation can also support creative and scientific activities in the fields of art, culture and education. In particular, it can support works, projects and events that are suitable for the creation, maintenance and communication of content of artistic work in the broadest sense (including fine arts, music, literature, design, film, photography, dance, architecture, etc.) to promote. In addition, the foundation aims to support organizations for the disabled and other institutions and people who work for people with disabilities, especially people with severe disabilities, with the aim of improving the quality of life of disabled and severely disabled people and their families. It can also directly support people with disabilities and severe disabilities. In addition, the foundation can also promote and support medical and scientific research in the field of severe disabilities and other areas. The Board of Trustees is free to allocate the funds. There is no obligation to pursue all of the goals mentioned or to support the goals pursued equally. The foundation is politically and denominationally neutral and pursues exclusively charitable purposes. The foundation does not pursue profit-making purposes and does not aim for profit.
