Mission

Closer is far ahead - together on the way to an education system that is appropriate for talent

We want an education system that is fair for all and which also enables highly gifted children and young people to develop their personalities based on their intellectual strengths.

The mission of the non-profit Karg Foundation is to improve the support of gifted children in daycare, school and counseling, before and during their school education. To this end, we are committed to promoting talented people with good ideas and new ways - in a spirit of partnership, professionally and practically.

Goals

The topic area. – Since its founding in 1989, the Karg Foundation has explored the topic of giftedness and initiated and supported many initiatives and model offerings. It has made a significant contribution to a reassessment of the topic. It remains their goal to address and break down prejudices about giftedness and gifted people, because children and young people in particular suffer particularly from the judgments of those around them.

Mission statement.– The Karg Foundation is committed to supporting highly gifted people and their cognitive abilities. She is an advocate for the promotion of gifted children in Germany. The topic of giftedness should be discussed in a complex and comprehensive manner in the spirit of the founders' Christian view of humanity. It is by no means a matter of a one-dimensional concept of performance or of an economically understood usability of knowledge and talent.

Education System. – Supporting gifted children and young people changes every educational institution and the education system as a whole. The education system should become more permeable to giftedness and continue to pay greater attention to the topic.

Partners and projects. – The Karg Foundation works with exemplary, transferable and qualified partners and projects in order to achieve the broadest possible impact of the funding. The foundation uses its overview of the topic and actors to network all those involved, those responsible and those interested.

In the William Stern program, doctoral students conduct research independently or in tandem with a postdoc.
