Mission
The foundation aims to promote various scientific projects, including the development of emerging scholars, related to the seven disciplines of the Institute of the Ancient and Byzantine World (Classical Philology, Ancient History, Classical Archaeology, Ancient Philosophy, Byzantine Studies, Patristics, and Roman Law). It also aims to promote educational projects and support student activities related to these seven disciplines, as well as to increase the visibility of the Institute and its disciplines, highlight the attractiveness of its studies and research to attract students, strengthen ties with the community, and enhance its visibility with the Cantonal authorities. In accordance with its objectives, the foundation operates throughout Switzerland. The founders expressly reserve the right to request a modification of the foundation's purpose in accordance with Article 86a of the Swiss Civil Code. The foundation is a non-profit and non-commercial entity. The foundation may acquire, operate, and/or dispose of real estate. If a public corporation is legally required to provide services similar to those of the foundation, the latter only intervenes in a subsidiary capacity.
