The Foundation aims to pursue charitable purposes of all kinds, particularly in the areas of education and training, environmental, climate and landscape protection, health promotion, international understanding, science, culture and sustainable social development. (2) The Foundation fulfils this purpose primarily by making donations to charitable organisations in Switzerland and abroad, which in turn fulfil the Foundation's purpose. The Foundation makes donations in particular to the following organisations: - Stiftung Mercator Schweiz, Zurich, - Stiftung Mercator GmbH, Essen. (3) To achieve its charitable purpose, the Foundation may also: - carry out and support projects and provide support and assistance to individuals and organisations that are within the scope of the Foundation's purpose; - establish other legal entities (such as associations, foundations, companies) within the scope of pursuing its purpose or acquire stakes in such legal entities or become a member of purpose-related associations; - enter into cooperations of a substantive or structural nature with other legal or natural persons; - Provide all types of services (e.g., asset management) related to the fulfillment of the Foundation's purpose. Such services are provided exclusively for the benefit of and to support the beneficiaries. The Board of Trustees may set priorities within the scope of these activities at its sole discretion. (4) The Foundation is a non-profit organization, pursues no commercial purposes, and does not seek profit.
