Bertold-Suhner-Stiftung

The foundation aims to promote endeavors that are in the public interest and benefit the Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, its individual districts, or larger or smaller segments of its population. Scientific, intellectual, cultural, social, and charitable projects may be supported, as well as initiatives for nature, landscape, and heritage conservation, and measures to preserve traditional cultural assets or improve the economic structure. Individuals who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own or who require educational assistance may also be considered. Excluded are grants for tasks that are legally the responsibility of the canton or municipalities. However, grants are permissible for tasks that the public authorities are authorized, but not obligated, to perform.
